Do You Want to Build a Yagi?
Last Friday the Wireless Technology Club had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with IVC ASEC (Applied Science & Engineering Club).
After a quick presentation on Amateur Radio and the principles behind Yagi-Uda antennas, approximately 25 students divided into teams to build their very own 2m tape measure yagi!

For some of the teams this was their very first time soldering, and the N6IVC officers were there to help them out.
As the teams completed their builds, the N6IVC offices quickly checked the antenna resonance before starting the competition. Each team competed to locate a hidden transmitter (a fox) in the least amount of time.
The fox hunt competition was fun and educational, even if some of the teams got lost.
