As we begin the new year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable contribution of our Volunteer Examiners (VE) team to the Amateur Radio community over the past year.

Nearly a year ago, in November 2023, W6DS and I with remote support from the Ham Radio Crash Course VE Team, hosted the first Amateur Radio exam session at Irvine Valley College. Not to mention, in the same session, our advisor, KO6CFZ, and our current vice president, KO6CFK, then a high school senior, passed their technician exams and became licensed.

Since then, the N6IVC VE team has become the cornerstone of our club and the local Ham Radio community. With over 10 dedicated members worldwide, the team has facilitated in-person and remote exam sessions while serving as invaluable mentors to our club officers and members.

The following statistics are the result of hours of volunteer effort from our VEs. While our focus has been on quality, not quantity, it’s always interesting to see the numbers.
