Winlink P2P Drill - Saturday, March 8, 2025
Drill operator and relay stations locations

The next county-wide peer-to-peer Winlink drill is scheduled for Saturday, March 8th, from 0900 to 1200 local time. The drill is intended for stations within the simplex range of Loma Ridge, either directly or through a relay station. This includes Amateur Radio operators in Orange County, South Los Angeles, and North San Diego County.

This practice drill is not associated with N6IVC or any specific organization; it is solely for the personal benefit of participants.

The drill will take place on 145.090 MHz. Participating stations will need to send a Winlink peer-to-peer email to the drill operator, KM6RTE. The email must include a Winlink check-in form and be encoded with AX.25 packets, transmitted at 1200 baud. For more details on technical requirements, please review the attachments below:

The main goal of this drill is to practice establishing peer-to-peer connections, not to test your Winlink equipment. Please verify that your Winlink setup is working by connecting to local Winlink gateways prior to the drill. If you need assistance setting up Winlink, feel free to ask your questions in the #packet-radio channel of our Discord server.
